Who runs this site

wxlter.dev is the personal portfolio of Walter Castillo, based in San Salvador, El Salvador. You can reach me about anything in this policy at me@wxlter.dev.

Information I collect

The site has no accounts, comment forms or contact forms, so I do not directly collect personal information such as your name or address. If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, and I use it only to reply.

Like most websites, the hosting provider and the services described below automatically receive technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the time of your visit.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are read and which countries visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies and reports aggregated statistics to me. I use this to improve the content, not to identify individuals.

You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Advertising and cookies

This site may show advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Analytics and advertising storage stay off until you choose. A banner on your first visit lets you accept or reject them, and “Cookie settings” in the footer lets you change that choice at any time. Your choice is stored in your browser (localStorage) together with your language preference; these are the only items the site itself stores. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

Third-party links

The site links to services such as GitHub and LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its processing. To exercise those rights, or if you have any question about this policy, write to me@wxlter.dev.

Changes to this policy

If I change how the site handles data, I will update this page and the date at the top.
